Core web: How do I delegate in Core Stake?

How to stake AVAX with the Avalanche native wallet dApp, Core web.

Written by Amanda

Users can delegate AVAX to an already established validator node on the Avalanche Network. Navigate to the Stake page on Core web by selecting Stake from the left navigation bar. Then choose Fast Stake, or Delegate.

Fast Stake

  1. Click Fast Stake.

  2. Confirm the Account, or select it to choose a different account.

  3. Enter the amount of AVAX to stake, or select 25%, 50%, or Max. Use Select UTXOs to choose specific UTXOs if needed.

  4. Under Stake duration, select a duration for the staking period.

  5. Review the Estimated rewards, then select Next.

Review and confirm

  1. Review the staking details:

    • Staked amount,

Once the transaction processes, a confirmation that the Fast Stake was successfully added will appear. Select Done to return to the Stake page.

Core charges a fee equal to 10% of gross estimated delegation rewards, on top of the staked amount at transaction time. The Fee is escrowed and will be manually refunded by Core if the validator fails to meet 80% uptime.

NOTE:

  • Delegating on the Avalanche network requires a minimum of 25 AVAX.

  • The minimum staking duration for delegating is 14 days for the Avalanche Mainnet.

  • The validating node must maintain an 80% or higher Uptime to reward their delegators. Please exercise caution when selecting the node to stake to.

  • For more information about delegating, please view the Staking FAQ.

  • The above gif is filmed on the Avalanche Fuji network. Minimum stake, duration, and fees demonstrated will differ from those presented on the Avalanche mainnet network.

These estimates represent the average rewards generated by the network over the specified duration and are provided for informational purposes only, without any representation, warranty, or guarantee, and do not represent any assurance that you will achieve the same results.

Each drop down section below has additional details for the delegation process. Please expand them for more information.

Selecting a Validator Node

Users will select the node to delegate their AVAX to. Some important information to note for each information column next to the Node ID:

  • Available: The remaining amount of AVAX that can be delegated to this node.

  • Delegators: The current number of delegations made to this node.

  • End date & time: When the node’s validation period will expire.

  • Delegation Fee: The percentage of the staking reward that is owed to the validator. The minimum fee is 2%.

  • Uptime: The estimated validator responsiveness. Nodes with less than an 80% uptime do not pay out delegator rewards at the end of their staking period.

Users can scroll through the list of active nodes or use Advanced filters to search for nodes with specific criteria.

Staking Duration and estimated rewards

Users can select a predetermined duration or set a Custom end date for their staking period. The predetermined durations will be based on the node’s expiration date. The delegation period cannot exceed the node’s end date.

Estimate rewards represent the average rewards generated by the network over the specified duration and are provided for informational purposes only, without any representation, warranty, or guarantee, and do not represent any assurance that you will achieve the same results.

These estimates do not take into account any delegation fees owed to a validator for the use of their node. Each validator sets and advertises its own fees. The final estimate will take the delegation fee into account.

Review and Confirm Delegation

After confirming a delegation, users will see a summary of their delegation information on the Stake page.

NOTE: Once the transaction is submitted, the information cannot be changed and the AVAX will be locked until the staking duration ends. It is not possible to end the staking period early or change any staking details. Please exercise caution and double check all submitted information before confirming the delegation transaction.
