Frequently asked questions

What are prediction markets?

Prediction markets are financial markets but for real-world events, such as elections, award shows, weather, sports, and more. On a prediction market, users can buy YES contracts or NO contracts. If a user is right — meaning they bought a YES contract and the event happens, or a NO contract and it does not happen — they get paid out $1 per contract. If wrong, they get paid $0.

Prediction-market positions involve risk. Users may lose the entire amount paid for a position, and fees, spreads, slippage, and taxes may affect their return.

How does pricing work?

Markets are priced on a $0–$1 scale. A YES share at $0.65 means the market implies a 65% probability. If the market resolves YES, each share pays out $1.00. If it resolves NO, the share is worth $0.

What tokens can I deposit?

Users can deposit USDC.e on the Polygon network, which wraps into pUSD, a Polymarket 1:1 backed stablecoin for interacting with Polymarket contracts.

Are there fees?

Yes, Core charges builder fees of 300 bps (3%) for Maker orders and 350 bps (3.5%) for taker orders, in addition to fees charged by Polymarket, and users will pay gas fees for blockchain transactions not covered by Core’s free gas initiative. See Polymarket’s documentation for more information about Polymarket’s fee structure.

What happens if a market I traded on is canceled or disputed?

Polymarket has clear resolution criteria for all markets. In the rare event of a dispute, Polymarket's compliance team will resolve it according to their rules. Canceled markets typically result in refunds.

Can I withdraw my funds at any time?

Users can withdraw their available balance at any time, subject to pending settlement and any applicable Polymarket terms. Funds locked in active positions must be closed before withdrawal.

Are Prediction Markets available in my region?

Prediction Markets are hosted by Polymarket. Please consult https://docs.polymarket.com/api-reference/geoblock to see the current list of blocked countries.
